A New Year begins

as I say goodbye to 2012 and move on to 2013 I am hoping it will be a happy and productive year for family and friends.
I have been a really slack blogger and I have decided I will improve in 2013.
I have decided this year that I need to save some money and to do this I need to cut down on impulse spending and be more thoughtful. I will continue to order my groceries online as not only does it save time it saves money as I don't buy anything that isn't on my list.
When it comes to craft and charities I will try to use what I have on hand and only buy what is necessary to complete the project.
So this is the way both Smokey and I saw in the new year. Me because I had just returned from 10 days in Brisbane and Smokey because she stresses when I am away.
Washing is done and my lovely daughter bought some fresh fruit and groceries for me to come home to so today I am going to make my plans for the year ahead. Also I am going to sort fabric for a quilt I need to get done as soon as possible and for some placemates ready for a swap.
Bye for today may your day be filled with love and laughter.

So it has been almost a month since my last post. I have good intentions but life just gets busy sometimes.
I have been busy knitting some more beanies for the hospital while the weather is cool and it certainly has been cool at night although the days are pleasant.
I am off to my daughters again while she and her family go to Brisbane for a week . I love spending time and her place although Smokey my cat isn't happy that she can't come with me. Smokey is going to her foster Mum for the week wonder what tales of mischief will be waiting for me. I can't believe that I have had Smokey for almost a year.By time she comes home it will be almsot her third birthday and her annual vet check. Smohey doesn't like the cold as you can see
I have also sewn some more gowns for the hospital and a cushion for me

now back to my packing

Spotlight trip

I went to spotlight yesterday and spent $20.00 this is what I bought
definately a bargain as Spotlight had a $40.00 off voucher if you spent $100.00 and my son Sean and his wife Nicole gave me $50.00 for Mothers Day so $20.00 was my contribution. Most of the fabric will make more baby gowns for the hospital.
I have been busy knitting again so have a few more beanies for the hospital

they are such fun to make and take so little time.
I am off scrapping again this Saturday and I hope to get some sewing done on Sunday if I get the cutting out done today.

Owls

These are the owls I made, one was given to a friend and the other I sold. The bag went with the owl to my friend. it folds so that you can keep it in your handbag although it turned out a little bulkier than I had hoped

Monday

Had a busy weekend scrapping but not ready to show what I have prepared for by next class at craft group as I would like to make another Christmas card, although the card above is one of the cards we will make.
I haven't done any sewing so hopefully will get some done this week as well as complete a couple of mini albums for a friend.

I have made 4 sets of cards and matching gift tags for the Leukaemia foundation Shave for a Cure Auctions run by two different friends. These were for my friend Heather whose daughter shaved her hair off.

and these were for another facebook friend. They all sold which was good.
